Thailand:

Content Commerce Reaches 37 Percent of Regional Platform Sales as AI Hosts Undercut Human Ones on Cost

Content commerce made up 37 percent of platform e-commerce in Southeast Asia in the first half of 2026, up from 20 percent in 2024, according to Momentum Works. The firm expects 77.9 billion dollars for the full year across a region that includes Thailand. The report also priced AI-hosted live streams at a fifth to a quarter of the cost of a human team, selling about 80 percent as much per hour. For a newcomer without Thai hosts, that turns empty off-peak hours into sales time, while creators keep the evening slots.

Indonesia:

Online FMCG Sales Hit a Record Rp88.4 Trillion, Mostly Because Prices Went Up

Compas tracked Rp88.4 trillion of FMCG sales on Shopee, Tokopedia, Lazada and Blibli in the first half of 2026, about 29 percent more than a year earlier and the highest since it started counting in 2024. Most of that rise came from higher prices, not more units. Compas's chief executive told brands that second-half growth has to come from volume. In a category where local brands already hold the familiar price points, that volume will be won from them.

Malaysia:

TikTok Reaches 86.8 Percent of Internet Users While Instagram Reaches Fewer Than Half

Malaysia has 35.4 million internet users, and TikTok's ad reach covers 86.8 percent of them. Instagram reaches 45.5 percent. YouTube, at 66.7 percent, lost 1.5 million in ad audience over the year while TikTok added 2.1 million. On those DataReportal figures TikTok is where a Malaysian launch starts. Splitting budget evenly with Instagram pays for reach the second platform does not deliver.

United States:

Meta Puts Creator Sourcing and Partnership Ads in One Hub, With Instagram Live Ads From September 29

Meta has combined Creator Marketplace and Partnership Ads Hub into one Creator Marketing Hub, with product-based creator search, direct messaging, expiring content permissions and one-click ad creation. From September 29, Instagram creator live streams can run as partnership ads. Finding a creator, clearing rights and boosting the post used to be separate jobs. Now they sit on one screen, which covers part of the coordination agencies have been handling.

Vietnam:

Creator-Influenced Spending Is Put at 65 Billion Dollars, Twice What Is Sold Online

Accenture puts creator-driven commerce in Vietnam at about 65 billion dollars in 2025, heading for 95 billion by 2030. The whole online retail market was about 32 billion dollars that year, by the trade ministry's count. Much of the gap is likely purchases that creators influence but that never pass through a tracked link. Judging creator work only by affiliate data misses most of it, and a rough offline sales read is worth adding before a campaign is written off.

China:

Douyin Traffic Costs Half Again What It Did in 2023 While Xiaohongshu Wins on Expensive Products

Average CPM on Douyin has gone from 80 yuan in 2023 to 120 yuan this year, while GMV growth slowed to an estimated 15 to 20 percent on about 4.4 trillion yuan. Xiaohongshu grew 72 percent in 2025. On products above 3,000 yuan, Xiaohongshu converts 47 percent better than Douyin. High-price, considered lines fit there; Douyin still suits the mass range, where volume absorbs the higher traffic cost.

Japan:

One in Four People Aged 15 to 59 Use More Than One of X, Instagram and TikTok Every Week

In a Spicebox survey of 9,840 people, 34.4 percent used X weekly, 31.5 percent Instagram and 16.6 percent TikTok. About half used none of the three, and 24.6 percent used two or more. Teenagers overlap the most, at 42.0 percent across several platforms. In their fifties, 56.9 percent use none, which puts that group beyond the reach of creator campaigns on these services.

South Korea:

CJ OnStyle, Naver and Musinsa Have Each Built Their Own Route From Creator to Sale

CJ OnStyle's creator collaboration orders rose 330 percent in the first half, ahead of its OnTner launch on September 8. Musinsa's Curator program has 8,400 curators and more than 210 billion won in cumulative sales. Naver's Shopping Connect has added travel. Musinsa and Naver pay creators on results, with tracking built in. A foreign brand joining one of these gets that measurement from the start, which fee-per-post KOL deals rarely offer.
